Introduction:

How can one micro-element in your body affect your health unimaginably? Do you want to find out? Well than let me tell you.

Basic Knowledge:

  • Our body is made up of Micro-elements/trace elements and Macro-elements.
  • Iron is one of the most prominent and important trace element found in the body which play a vital role in many functions.
  • Trace elements include:– Iodine — Iron — Fluorine — Cobalt — Copper — Zinc — Manganese — Selenium — Molybdenum — Boron — Chromium — Nickel — Vanadium — Silicon.
  • Iron is an vital element for life even for every living being especially humans. Iron take part in number of complex processes that happen at molecular level important for living beings for example: Transportation of oxygen.

Roles:

Haemoglobin Molecule
Haemoglobin Molecule.
  • Above it is a haemoglobin molecule found in red blood cells. About 70% of iron is used to make iron-groups(heme-groups) which helps in efficient transportation of oxygen. As you can see that it has 4 Iron group which means each haemoglobin molecule can carry up to 4 Oxygen molecules. We have 270 million haemoglobin molecules in 1 red blood cell which makes an efficient supply for oxygen if we count the total number of red blood cells found in our body.
  • Iron is also involved in the conversion of blood sugar into energy. During exercise our body is in need for energy supply so it helps you to maintain your energy required for that exercise.
  • Involved in the production of enzymes which are the biological catalyst of the body enhancing the speed of reactions making metabolism works faster, neurotransmitters which makes an efficient system for nerve impulse transmission for coordination of body , cells which helps in rapid recovery from illness and injuries.
  • Immune system optimum performance is dependent on Iron intake which makes our body internally strong to fights against any kind of pathogens.
  • Iron is needed for physical and mental development, particularly in infants during pregnancy.

Quantity needed for daily intake:

Males need : 8–10mg/day

Females need: 18–20mg/day

Found in : Red meat, White meat, Sweet potatoes, Green veggies, Spinach, Broccoli, Nuts, fruits like Apples-Strawberries-Watermelon.

Females need to take twice the quantity than males as females undergo through 2 important painful procedures during there life and that is Menstruation — Periods and Pregnancy, both involves quite a significant amount of blood loss from the body so you need to have enough back up in your body so it does not become deficient in Iron.

Some valuable tips:

  • Adding iron to your diet doesn’t mean that you start taking iron in bulk quantities and eating iron supplement pills from tomorrow.
  • Iron is just one brick needed to built a wall you need many more means that we need other elements also to maintain a healthy and strong body.
  • Just as iron is important for your body so does other elements like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chlorine , cobalt , phosphorus, and many more.
  • So what do we need now ?we need to make sure that we eat a HEALTHY WELL BALANCED DIET.

Conclusion:

Just imagine if one micro-elements can make such a huge change than what will happen if we take all the vital nutrients needed by our body to work to its optimum.

Its not that hard, its just you need to make the right choice and that is up to you. If you want to live up to your potential than first start making a difference within yourself.
